Palma Dorada
The Finca Palma Dorada encompasses an area of 35 hectares (86 acres) in the middle of the Ecuadorian Amazon region. Here, alongside indigenous people of the rainforest, we work to combine growing cacao sustainably, to produce our distinctive prize-winning chocolate, and for the preservation of the jungle, commercial forestry, tourism and the cultivation of a variety of vegetables and tropical fruits.
Our chocolate
Puma Dorado is a single-estate product chocolate bar. The cacao is grown on a tiny farm in the Amazonian rainforest in the Oriente of Ecuador. The sustainably produced beans, after harvesting, are fermented for six days and then sun-dried on site. The later processes of chocolate-making – roasting, winnowing, grinding and conching – take place in small batches using traditional artisanal production methods either by hand among the local population or in a small award-winning factory in Quito.
Awards
Puma Dorado won the Gold Award for the Best Vegan Chocolate Bar at the International Chocolate Salon Awards 2025, at the same time also won the silver award for the best dark chocolate bar.
