The Finca Palma Dorada encompasses an area of 35 hectares (86 acres) in the middle of the Ecuadorian Amazon region. Here, alongside the indigenous people of the rainforest, we work to combine growing cacao sustainably, to produce our\n distinctive prize-winning chocolate, the preservation of the jungle, commercial forestry, tourism and the cultivation of a variety of vegetables and tropical fruits. <\/p>\n

The Finca is located in the municipality of Tuyano, near Puerto Misahualli, Province of Napo, in eastern Ecuador. Palma Dorada is located on an ancient river bed, which contains quantities\n of gold. Golden electrolytes are widely spread through the soil, enriching the cacao. <\/p>\n

A primary reserve forest of 15 hectares is protected as part of the sustainable project with a biodiversity which includes a variety of monkeys, felids and birds such as the toucans. A large number of ancient trees\n of many species which have not been catalogued yet. <\/p>\n

The sustainablility management includes protection of insects such as the melipona bees, some of which are being rehoused, providing additional pollination for many plant varieties, including cacao. The farm is managed with minimal agro chemicals\n and enriching the soil with recycled organic material from the restaurants. And ensure the water supply for the local communities from the natural sources in the primary reserve forest.<\/p>\n
